- Move through the text deliberately: Let your eyes float rapidly down the page, not reading, but searching. Your peripheral vision will catch your keyword when it appears.
- Slow down when you find it: Once your eye catches the keyword, stop and read the surrounding sentences carefully to confirm it contains the information you need.
- Scan for one keyword at a time: If you need multiple pieces of information, do separate passes – one per target.
